I'm not one. Never have been. Showered, dressed and out the door in under 20 minutes. Occassionally I feel incredibly ungirlie because of this. It's not that I don't take pride in my appearance, I simply don't find the whole routine of hours of carefully applied makeup appealing at all.

I have friends who won't step outside their front door to go to the mailbox without first putting on an entire face of makeup. Never really been my thing, although I admit I wear it on stage or when I'm going out.

Perhaps it's simply because I'm really not that good at it. I never poured over magazines (like my eldest does), trying to copy the latest trends.

My hair on the other hand can take me forever! You think this naturally unruly mess comes easily?

I'm definitely not high maintenance & only wear make up if I'm going out..

I've never been very fussed with the whole preening ritual either..

Although in saying that I studied make up art at one point, but I didn't study it for obvious reasons, I was more interested & still am, in the special effects side..

Psstt.. slumber party & I'll do you up girls, what do you say? That I love doing!

But what jumped to mind when I saw high maintenance was with guys & I'm definitely not.. oh I like luxury, but it's a treat, I'm just as happy sitting by a campfire.

I was a shocker in my 20's. I'd primp and preen for hours, and was never ready on time. These days its not so much that I don't care as much, more a case of I'm more comfortable with the real me I think, and I don't need to hide behind the layers of makeup that I used to.
