As a full time mum with limited income to spend on myself, was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on cheaper options than say the traditional gym junkie approach. Tried the whole walking bit, but find it hard to get motivated without someone to walk along with me. Been thinking about trying something like Optifast but almost had a heart attack at the price. Over $50 for one box. Thoughts/suggestions anyone?

Simple. Eat less, exercise more. Have pride in your appearance and be disciplined in your approach. Watch what you eat whilst pregnant and you won't have to suffer the consequences after.

You obviously don't have kids Kyles. It's not just a matter of finding the time to exercise when you have rugrats to look after, house work to do and a job to hold down, but also finding the energy to expend on yourself. Like Mish I also feel guilty about spending money on anything selfish like gym memberships or diet products. Despite the cost I have heard good reports about Optifast, and it's the only diet supplement that my GP has any time for. Tastes damn vile though if the look on a friends face as she held her nose and tried not to gag is anything to go by.

Optifast is the one people have more success with Mish. They have a website and a forum board as well. If I can find the link I'll send it to you if you are interested.

I lost a hell of a lot of weight once using a diet called the sacred heart diet. You can find the recipe online if your interested. It's pretty full on though, you have to drink the same soup for 7 days & as the days pass you can eat different varieties of foods along with it. Be careful, do not starve yourself, you end up with headache's, light headedness & all sorts of things if you don't eat that soup whenever your hungry, as they say in the recipe, the more soup you eat, the more weight you lose. But if you stick to it, the weight falls off fast! They give this diet to overweight heart patients before there surgery. Keep us up to date on how your going... Excercise like walking or just climbing your stairs at home will tone you while the weight drops off. :hrt:

Thanks ladies. Just finding it a bit hard to motivate myself at the moment. Wouldn't mind getting a cheap exercise bike, position it directly in front of the tv and merrily pedal away as I watch House. Yum

hehe How's that for delicous inspiration! Your welcome sweety. I'm not too pleased with my progress at losing the winter weight either, so I might just give the soup a go myself soon...

Is it sinful to sit up in front of the Biggest Loser and munch chocolate?

Whatever we do I vote we don't do it until after Easter. Just in case Easter Bunny leaves unequal amounts of eggs and I have to do the right thing and eat them before the kidlets fight over the left overs. Yum to Shannon. Bob ain't that bad either. And would I be stretching the point to say that Jillian is rather hot

Forget the mums for a mo. Women are supposed to have curves after all. What about us poor guys who can't seem to put any weight on no matter how hard we try? Frank almost used me as a toothpick the other night at cricket when I was standing side on.

You're just naturally skinny my love. Seen what you can pack away, and it's not not for the want of trying thats for sure. Just embrace who you are and enjoy it.

So Easter's over. Who was good and who will be running on a treadmill every night for the next couple of months just to burn off the calories?
