How are we supposed to get behind them, when they keep on building them back up again?

Some men are just so emotionally damaged (and I guess some of us are too) that if they let the walls down and let us "in" a little bit, they later build the walls back up higher and higher.

Why do they chase and pursue a relationship, while trying to shut us out emotionally?

That was a question posed to me by a close friend just recently. And it got me wondering. At this point of our lives we are all somewhat emotionally scarred from past disappointments and relationships. Can those walls be crumbled if you continue to chip away?

Forget the walls. Just grab a great big hammer and chisel and start belting away at them if you feel the need. I'd rather know how you live with a ghost from the past; and one that isn't even dead. It's kind of pathetic that grown men (or women in alot of cases) can't let go of something that happened over a decade ago.

Then I politely suggest Kylie that you stop constantly harassing the large majority of us with your 101 questions about her!

There I said it. Off the chest; can breathe easier now.

So I had a bowl full of bitchy for breakfast. Basically I think both parties are at fault here.

No woman (or man) wants to be compared or hear about the ex. It's kind of like when we ask you if our butt looks big in this. We don't want to know the truth for heavensake! Lie. Or risk not getting any in the foreseeable future. Think it, fantasise about it, but keep it to yourself.

However on the other hand, any woman stupid enough to go in search of the answer to the question "Who sucked your cock better", and doesn't get the answer they hoped for, has no-one but herself to blame. And sniffing round the ex's friends trying to dig dirt isn't exactly a good way of endearing yourself to your partner's mates.

Next victim. I am in a mood

At the risk of everyone now knowing that I sneak into the ladies room for a read, I gotta tell you I don't think it's right to be talking about someone who isn't online. And I will openly and honestly say that in all the years I have known her she has always treated the girls in his life with nothing but respect whenever their paths have crossed. Not trying to be cruel or stir up trouble but you cant date a muso and be insecure in your own self or you will quickly self destruct. Just the way it goes sorry.

Mish

Some people manage to stay connected once the physical side of the relationship is over and done with. Learn to live with it!

Walls are pretty damned tough to knock down, I agree. But not impossible, I think trying too hard is a bad way to go about dismanteling *spell check in the ladies please : P* Go slow & steady I would suggest to your friend Max.

:shh: We already knew you guys come in here :wink!: :looks for bedhead: lol I just had to use the cuffs, sorry : P

i tend to believe men in general fear being too emotionally open. They fear exposure, as it can become sore. They feel vulnerable, so will keep the door closed.

It has to be a gentle unlocking, but IF you can get the guy to open up fully you will find his soul.... and love i reckon

I couldn't have put it better myself Natasha. Men have it instilled in them from a very early age that they have to be strong, that they have to hold their emotions in check, that they have to be invincible and hold everything together.

And we expect them to do it! We tend to forget that at the end of the day they are simply human too and alot of the bluff and bravado is actually a facade to save the hurt that they may be feeling.
